The objective of a Backgammon game is to move your chips around the game board and pull those pieces from the board quicker than your opponent who works harder to achieve the same buthowever they move in the opposite direction. Succeeding in a match in Backgammon requires both tactics and luck. Just how far you can shift your checkers is up to the numbers from rolling the dice, and the way you shift your pieces are decided on by your overall gambling plans. Players use a number of techniques in the different stages of a match based on your positions and opponent’s.
The Running Game Tactic
The aim of the Running Game plan is to bring all your chips into your home board and pull them off as quick as you could. This technique concentrates on the speed of advancing your checkers with absolutely no time spent to hit or stop your opponent’s chips. The best time to use this tactic is when you think you might be able to shift your own chips faster than your opponent does: when 1) you have a fewer pieces on the board; 2) all your pieces have moved beyond your opponent’s checkers; or 3) your opposing player doesn’t use the hitting or blocking strategy.
The Blocking Game Plan
The main aim of the blocking plan, by the name, is to block your competitor’s pieces, temporarily, not worrying about moving your chips quickly. After you’ve created the blockage for the opponent’s movement with a few checkers, you can move your other checkers quickly from the board. The player should also have an apparent strategy when to back off and move the checkers that you employed for the blockade. The game becomes interesting when the opponent uses the same blocking technique.
