As we dicussed in the last article, Backgammon is a casino game of ability and good luck. The goal is to move your chips carefully around the board to your inside board while at the same time your opposing player moves their chips toward their inside board in the opposite direction. With opposing player pieces shifting in opposing directions there is going to be conflict and the requirement for specific tactics at specific instances. Here are the two final Backgammon tactics to finish off your game.
The Priming Game Strategy
If the aim of the blocking strategy is to slow down the opponent to move his chips, the Priming Game tactic is to absolutely stop any movement of the opponent by constructing a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The opponent’s checkers will either get bumped, or result a battered position if he/she ever attempts to leave the wall. The trap of the prime can be setup anyplace between point 2 and point eleven in your game board. After you’ve successfully constructed the prime to prevent the activity of the competitor, your opponent does not even get a chance to toss the dice, and you move your pieces and toss the dice again. You will be a winner for sure.
The Back Game Technique
The objectives of the Back Game strategy and the Blocking Game tactic are similar – to hurt your competitor’s positions with hope to better your odds of succeeding, however the Back Game plan utilizes seperate techniques to achieve that. The Back Game strategy is commonly used when you’re far behind your competitor. To compete in Backgammon with this strategy, you need to control two or more points in table, and to hit a blot late in the game. This tactic is more complex than others to play in Backgammon seeing as it needs careful movement of your pieces and how the checkers are relocated is partly the outcome of the dice roll.
