As we have dicussed in the previous article, Backgammon is a casino game of skill and pure luck. The goal is to shift your checkers safely around the game board to your home board while at the same time your opposing player moves their chips toward their inner board in the opposite direction. With opposing player chips heading in opposing directions there is going to be conflict and the need for specific strategies at specific instances. Here are the two final Backgammon techniques to complete your game.
The Priming Game Strategy
If the purpose of the blocking tactic is to slow down the opponent to shift her pieces, the Priming Game strategy is to completely block any activity of the opposing player by building a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The competitor’s chips will either get hit, or result a battered position if she at all attempts to escape the wall. The trap of the prime can be setup anyplace between point 2 and point eleven in your game board. Once you have successfully built the prime to stop the movement of your opponent, your opponent does not even get to roll the dice, that means you move your pieces and toss the dice again. You’ll win the game for sure.
The Back Game Technique
The aims of the Back Game tactic and the Blocking Game tactic are similar – to hinder your opponent’s positions hoping to improve your chances of winning, but the Back Game strategy utilizes seperate techniques to achieve that. The Back Game strategy is often used when you are far behind your competitor. To participate in Backgammon with this strategy, you have to control two or more points in table, and to hit a blot (a single piece) late in the game. This tactic is more challenging than others to play in Backgammon because it needs careful movement of your pieces and how the chips are moved is partially the result of the dice toss.
