As we have dicussed in the last article, Backgammon is a casino game of ability and good luck. The aim is to move your chips safely around the game board to your inner board and at the same time your opposition moves their checkers toward their home board in the opposite direction. With opposing player chips heading in opposing directions there is bound to be conflict and the need for specific tactics at specific instances. Here are the last two Backgammon tactics to complete your game.

The Priming Game Strategy

If the goal of the blocking plan is to hamper the opponents ability to move her pieces, the Priming Game plan is to completely block any activity of the opposing player by constructing a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The competitor’s chips will either get hit, or result a damaged position if he ever tries to leave the wall. The ambush of the prime can be setup anyplace between point two and point eleven in your board. Once you have successfully built the prime to stop the activity of the opponent, the opponent doesn’t even get to roll the dice, and you move your chips and toss the dice yet again. You’ll be a winner for sure.

The Back Game Technique

The goals of the Back Game tactic and the Blocking Game plan are very similar – to hinder your competitor’s positions with hope to improve your odds of succeeding, however the Back Game plan relies on seperate techniques to do that. The Back Game plan is commonly used when you’re far behind your competitor. To compete in Backgammon with this strategy, you have to control two or more points in table, and to hit a blot late in the game. This plan is more challenging than others to employ in Backgammon seeing as it requires careful movement of your pieces and how the pieces are moved is partly the result of the dice toss.
