As we have dicussed in the last article, Backgammon is a game of ability and luck. The goal is to shift your pieces carefully around the game board to your inner board and at the same time your opposition moves their pieces toward their inner board in the opposite direction. With competing player chips heading in opposite directions there is bound to be conflict and the requirement for particular strategies at particular times. Here are the 2 final Backgammon strategies to round out your game.

The Priming Game Plan

If the purpose of the blocking strategy is to slow down the opponent to shift their pieces, the Priming Game tactic is to completely block any movement of the opponent by constructing a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The competitor’s checkers will either get hit, or end up in a bad position if he/she at all attempts to leave the wall. The trap of the prime can be established anywhere between point 2 and point eleven in your board. Once you’ve successfully built the prime to prevent the movement of the opponent, your opponent does not even get a chance to roll the dice, that means you shift your pieces and toss the dice yet again. You’ll win the game for sure.

The Back Game Technique

The objectives of the Back Game technique and the Blocking Game plan are similar – to harm your opponent’s positions with hope to boost your odds of winning, but the Back Game strategy utilizes seperate techniques to do that. The Back Game plan is frequently employed when you’re far behind your competitor. To play Backgammon with this technique, you have to hold two or more points in table, and to hit a blot late in the game. This technique is more complex than others to use in Backgammon because it requires careful movement of your chips and how the chips are moved is partly the result of the dice roll.
