As we dicussed in the previous article, Backgammon is a game of talent and good luck. The aim is to shift your checkers safely around the game board to your inside board while at the same time your opponent moves their chips toward their home board in the opposing direction. With opposing player checkers moving in opposing directions there is bound to be conflict and the requirement for particular techniques at specific times. Here are the two final Backgammon plans to finish off your game.

The Priming Game Tactic

If the aim of the blocking strategy is to slow down the opponent to shift their pieces, the Priming Game tactic is to absolutely barricade any movement of the opposing player by assembling a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The opponent’s chips will either get hit, or end up in a battered position if he/she at all attempts to escape the wall. The trap of the prime can be built anyplace between point 2 and point 11 in your half of the board. As soon as you have successfully built the prime to block the activity of the opponent, the competitor doesn’t even get a chance to roll the dice, that means you shift your chips and roll the dice again. You’ll win the game for sure.

The Back Game Plan

The objectives of the Back Game tactic and the Blocking Game strategy are similar – to hurt your opponent’s positions hoping to boost your odds of succeeding, however the Back Game strategy uses different tactics to achieve that. The Back Game plan is often used when you are far behind your competitor. To participate in Backgammon with this technique, you need to control 2 or more points in table, and to hit a blot late in the game. This technique is more complex than others to play in Backgammon because it needs careful movement of your chips and how the pieces are relocated is partly the outcome of the dice toss.
