The aim of a Backgammon game is to move your checkers around the game board and pull them off the board faster than your competitor who works just as hard to attempt the same buthowever they move in the opposing direction. Succeeding in a match of Backgammon requires both strategy and good luck. How far you will be able to move your chips is left to the numbers from rolling a pair of dice, and the way you shift your chips are determined by your overall playing techniques. Players use different tactics in the different parts of a match based on your positions and opponent’s.

The Running Game Technique

The goal of the Running Game tactic is to lure all your pieces into your inner board and bear them off as fast as you can. This technique focuses on the pace of shifting your chips with absolutely no efforts to hit or block your competitor’s pieces. The ideal time to employ this strategy is when you believe you might be able to move your own pieces a lot faster than the opposing player does: when 1) you have less pieces on the game board; 2) all your checkers have past your opponent’s pieces; or 3) your opponent doesn’t use the hitting or blocking plan.

The Blocking Game Strategy

The main aim of the blocking plan, by the title, is to stop the competitor’s pieces, temporarily, not fretting about shifting your checkers rapidly. After you’ve established the blockage for the competitor’s movement with a few pieces, you can move your other chips swiftly from the board. You should also have a good strategy when to extract and shift the chips that you used for blocking. The game gets intriguing when the competitor uses the same blocking strategy.
