The objective of a Backgammon match is to shift your pieces around the Backgammon board and bear them from the board faster than your challenger who works just as hard to attempt the same buthowever they move in the opposing direction. Succeeding in a match of Backgammon needsrequires both tactics and luck. How far you will be able to move your checkers is left to the numbers from tossing a pair of dice, and just how you shift your chips are determined by your overall gambling strategies. Players use differing tactics in the differing parts of a match based on your positions and opponent’s.
The Running Game Technique
The aim of the Running Game technique is to lure all your pieces into your home board and bear them off as quick as you could. This tactic focuses on the speed of moving your pieces with little or no efforts to hit or block your opponent’s pieces. The ideal time to use this tactic is when you think you might be able to shift your own pieces faster than your opposing player does: when 1) you have less pieces on the game board; 2) all your pieces have past your competitor’s pieces; or 3) the opposing player does not use the hitting or blocking plan.
The Blocking Game Plan
The main goal of the blocking tactic, by its title, is to stop your competitor’s pieces, temporarily, not worrying about moving your checkers rapidly. As soon as you have established the barrier for the competitor’s movement with a couple of pieces, you can shift your other checkers rapidly off the board. You will need to also have a good strategy when to back off and move the checkers that you employed for the blockade. The game becomes interesting when your opposition uses the same blocking tactic.
