The aim of a Backgammon game is to move your checkers around the Backgammon board and bear those pieces off the game board quicker than your challenger who works just as hard to do the same buthowever they move in the opposite direction. Winning a match of Backgammon requires both strategy and luck. Just how far you can move your checkers is up to the numbers from rolling the dice, and just how you move your pieces are decided on by your overall playing techniques. Enthusiasts use different strategies in the different stages of a game depending on your positions and opponent’s.
The Running Game Tactic
The aim of the Running Game strategy is to lure all your pieces into your home board and pull them off as quickly as you could. This technique focuses on the speed of advancing your checkers with absolutely no efforts to hit or block your competitor’s checkers. The ideal time to employ this strategy is when you believe you can move your own checkers faster than your opposition does: when 1) you have a fewer chips on the board; 2) all your pieces have moved beyond your opponent’s checkers; or 3) the opposing player doesn’t use the hitting or blocking tactic.
The Blocking Game Tactic
The primary goal of the blocking plan, by its title, is to stop your opponent’s chips, temporarily, not worrying about moving your chips quickly. Once you’ve created the blockage for your competitor’s movement with a couple of checkers, you can shift your other checkers quickly from the game board. The player will need to also have an apparent plan when to back off and move the pieces that you employed for the blockade. The game becomes interesting when the opposition uses the same blocking tactic.
